5 out of 5 stars Quality fan   April 16, 2010
marty
This is a good fan and I am happy with it. I read the negative reviews about this fan and was afraid that it would be too noisy, overheat, and not cool me enough. I bought this fan to keep my cool in a very hot classroom I have to go to that has little ventilation, as well as other warm places. I found the fan to be quiet and keep me cool. It has a buzzing sound like any other fan, but I think it is easily ignored. I doubt it distracted any students in class, for example. I used it continuously for an hour and a half and it did not overheat or turn off, like some reviewers experienced. The motor did not even feel warm after that usage.

The biggest negative with the fan is that it currently costs almost $30, so you will need to figure out if it is worth it for you. Also, my fan has been reliable so far, but after reading the reviews it sounds like you might get a defective unit, so that will be something to watch out for and consider. I gave this fan five stars because I've been happy and haven't had any issues with mine.

5 out of 5 stars GREAT... until the cat ate it.   April 6, 2010

I bought this fan because my laptop tends to over heat. It worked perfectly and kept my laptop very cool. The neck is stiff enough to angle to blow where needed and it stayed put. The breeze is surprisingly powerful and although aimed at the keyboard, it kept me cool too. It was light weight and easy to store in my computer bag. Although it did make a slight hum, it wasn't much louder than the fan inside the laptop. I was very impressed and used it pretty much continuously for two weeks.... until my cat ate the fan.

Yes, you heard right... She ate the little rubber blades right off. She was obsessed with watching it when it was on and batted at it a few times but otherwise left it alone. Then one day I left it setting out while it was off and came home to chewed up little stubs where the rubber blades used to be. I was able to stick doubled-over pieces of scotch tape onto the little stubs that were left and am back in operation again but it is not quite the same. It makes a bit more noise and isn't quite as pretty, but it still works.

So, if you have a cat, you might want to take the fan and put it away when not in use.

3 out of 5 stars Kensington 62648 FlyFan   September 1, 2009

The fan works well, gives off enough air flow. The neck, I believe could be a little longer. The price for this fan was too high compared to other fans of the same caliber.

5 out of 5 stars Moves Stagnant Air! Cool Breeze!   August 27, 2009

Great little Fan for moving air in a stifling environment. Very nice, not too loud. Sounds like a fly, hence the name, I suppose, but not disturbingly so. Was the answer I was looking for! Thanks for a great product!

4 out of 5 stars Nice fan but a little noisy   November 9, 2008

The only complaint I have is the noise it makes when it's in use. Despite that, a great cooling system for your laptop
